Reverse Panel Discussion
Rather than a traditional panel, we will host a reverse panel, a moderated, informal discussion where we invite our industry guests to share perspectives with the academic community.
We include the themes and seed questions below to give participants a chance to reflect in advance.
Theme 1: Adapting to Change – Skills, Learning, and the Future of Work
How is your industry changing, and what kinds of skills or learning approaches do people need to stay relevant, both at the start of their careers and throughout?
- What current trend or technology do you think will have the biggest impact on your industry in the next 5 years?
- What skills do you find most valuable or most lacking in recent graduates?
- How are microcredentials or short-form learning playing a role in your organization’s approach to lifelong learning or upskilling?
- What advice would you give students preparing for industry roles today?
Theme 2: Strengthening University–Industry Partnerships
How do you currently collaborate with universities, and what gaps or challenges do you think need to be addressed to strengthen these partnerships?
- How does your organization engage with universities, and what makes those partnerships successful?
- What do you wish academia understood better about your industry?
- What barriers make it difficult for your organization to collaborate more closely with universities?
- Are there research areas or topics you think academia is currently missing that would be valuable for your industry?
Getting to the Venue
The venue is at the Learning Resource Center “Stelios Ioannou”, which is marked as Building 17 on the map below. Click the map image to view a larger version, or view it on Google Maps for interactive directions.
Parking is available on the University of Cyprus campus. Please follow signs for visitor parking or refer to the university’s website for parking maps and regulations. Note that most parking spaces require a special permit. However, there are designated areas clearly marked for free visitor parking. Do not park in non-designated areas, as campus security may immobilize your vehicle (and releasing it will incur a fine).
